Conditions to Obtain a Class 3 License
You need:

To have less than 4 demerit points on your driving record

To not have had any suspension or revocation of your driver's license during the last two years following an offence to the criminal Code or of an accumulation of points of inaptitude

Succeed the visual test of the RAMQ

Present a satisfactory medical report from the RAMQ

Succeed a theoretical examination.

To have 24 months of experience as a card holder of a permit of the class 5 (passenger vehicle)

Have had their license for longer than 3 months
For the NEW Quebec residents, the SAAQ authorizes an alteration to this rule. If the obtained experience is correctly documented (see driver's License), this experience can be recognized and deducted for a period of 2 previously documented years.
For more information concerning the dispensation criteria, the candidates must talk to the SAAQ.
• Succeed the class 3 road test as well as the test procedures of technical inspections to the SAAQ.
